Planteray Rum Reserve 5 Ans reveals a clean, direct style, with five years of aging that give it a light wood note and a welcoming softness. On the nose there are scents of dark molasses, warm caramel and a hint of vanilla, supported by memories of stewed fruit; the whole is balanced, without excess, and suggests a generous but measured sip. The structure shows medium body, soft tannins and a well-integrated sweet texture that does not overpower the alcoholic freshness.

On the palate it is flavorful and harmonious: the warmth is present but controlled, with echoes of sweet spices and a slightly toasted touch on the finish. The persistence is pleasant, leaving a velvety feel and a light note of candied citrus that cleanses the palate. It is suited to neat consumption at room temperature as well as with a few drops of water or over ice cubes; it pairs well with light cigars, caramel-based desserts or dark chocolate pairings.
