Xaymaca Special Dry is a Jamaican pot still-style rum offered by Planteray in a 70cl bottle. On the nose it opens lively and fragrant, with ester notes reminiscent of ripe banana, pineapple and a hint of citrus, accompanied by more earthy and spicy aromas: cloves, cedar and a slight funky note typical of pot-still distillates. The profile is dry and taut, with an alcoholic presence that is noticeable but well integrated, leaving room for an oily, clean texture rather than overpowering sweetness.

On the palate it confirms character and precision; the attack is direct, fresh and savory, tropical fruit alternates with nuances of white pepper and a delicate final bitterness that extends the finish. It’s a versatile rum: it stands up to tasting neat and gives personality to classic cocktails that require body and pronounced esters. Serve at room temperature or with a small ice cube, pairing with dark chocolate or citrus-based preparations to enhance its structure.
