The distillation takes place in traditional pot stills, followed by a maturation period in barrels that previously housed bourbon and rum, giving the whiskey a unique complexity and surprising aromatic nuances. The result is an amber liquid, with golden hues that shine in the light.
On the nose, the Teeling Small Batch offers rich and enveloping aromas of dried fruit, vanilla, and a subtle hint of green apple. This is enriched by a slight spicy note that hints at the tasting experience ahead. On the palate, this whiskey is smooth and pleasantly oily, with flavors of caramel, sweet spices, and a hint of chocolate. The finish is long and warm, with a return of vanilla and an echo of toasted wood.
This whiskey is magnificent both enjoyed neat, to appreciate all its nuances, and as a base for sophisticated cocktails that require a spirit with character. Ideal for celebrating special occasions or for giving a moment of pure pleasure to the palate.

Distillation
Combined use of pot stills (for single pot still expressions) and column stills (for some grain whiskey); some expressions are triple distilled; method varies depending on the bottle.
Ageing
Maturation in a wide range of casks with frequent finishes and double maturations (e.g. bourbon followed by wine casks such as Sauternes, red wine casks; finish in Japanese shochu casks on some releases). Many bottles are bottled without chill filtration and are reduced from cask strength to their house 'signature' ABV.
