The Sottodossi Riserva Cru, produced by the historic Dorigati winery, is a red wine that embodies all the elegance and complexity of the Trentino region. Classified as DOC (Denominazione di Origine Controllata), this wine is crafted following strict standards that ensure its high quality and authenticity from the region of origin.

The grapes, carefully selected from the best vineyards, undergo a meticulous and careful vinification process, starting with controlled fermentation followed by a period of aging in oak barrels that gives the Sottodossi Riserva Cru its robust structure and complex aromas. The result is a wine with an intense ruby red color, with nuances that tend toward garnet as it ages.

On the nose, the Sottodossi Riserva Cru offers a rich and persistent bouquet, where prominent notes of ripe red fruits, spices, and a subtle hint of vanilla emerge, a testament to its time in wood. On the palate, the wine is elegant and well-balanced, with good acidity and well-integrated tannins that promise excellent aging potential.

An ideal pairing for dishes of red meat, game, and aged cheeses, this wine is perfect for savoring on special occasions or for keeping as a showpiece in any enthusiast's collection.

The care in production and attention to detail make the Sottodossi Riserva Cru by Luigi Dorigati an emblematic example of the Trentino wine heritage, capable of offering a deep and memorable sensory experience.

Winery history
The Dorigati family has been active in Mezzocorona for generations: the company traces its origins to 1858 and developed as a family-run business dedicated to viticulture in the Piana Rotaliana. The current premises at Via Dante 5 date back to the early 20th century, with later extensions and a winery renovation completed in 1998. In the 1980s the winery also launched the Methius project, a Trento DOC Metodo Classico reserve.
Production philosophy
The winery focuses on territorial identity and quality: traditional viticultural practices, cluster selection and winemaking designed to bring out the character of the individual vineyards of the Piana Rotaliana and the pedemontane hills. It produces both 'classic' wines tied to the territory and Metodo Classico sparkling wines, with attention to artisanal process management.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards are concentrated in the Piana Rotaliana and on the foothill slopes of Mezzocorona, with some plots associated with specific crus, such as the 'Bagolari' vineyard. Some Traditional Method cuvées come from hilly areas such as Faedo and Pressano; the soils include fluvial and glacial deposits typical of the area.
