The Merlot DOC Friuli from the "Terre Magre" line, produced by the renowned Piera Martellozzo winery, is an outstanding wine that reflects the richness and variety of the Friulian territory. This red wine, with its distinctive character and refined elegance, is the result of expert winemaking that respects tradition and nature.

On the nose, the Merlot DOC Friuli "Terre Magre" offers a complex bouquet where ripe red fruit notes such as cherry stand out, enriched by hints of spices and a light herbal nuance typical of Merlot grown in this region. Aging in wooden barrels contributes delicate touches of vanilla and chocolate, creating an enveloping and persistent aroma.

On the palate, the wine presents a medium body, perfectly balancing acidity and very soft tannins. The barrel aging gives it a solid yet elegant structure, with a long and pleasantly bitter finish that invites another sip.

Ideal for accompanying red meat dishes or game, this Merlot is also a great companion for tasting evenings or special moments. The recommended serving temperature is 18°C to enhance all its qualities.

The Merlot DOC Friuli "Terre Magre" by Piera Martellozzo is a wine that celebrates the winery's passion for winemaking and the uniqueness of the Friulian terroir, making it a must for wine lovers seeking authenticity and quality in every glass.

Winery history
The company’s history dates back to the late 19th century, with the first generation of the Martellozzo family active in 1899 in the province of Padua. In the 1990s Piera, of the third generation, took the helm of the business, began re-evaluating indigenous grape varieties and launched its first organic line. In the early 2000s the headquarters were consolidated in San Quirino, in the Friuli Grave area, serving as the starting point for expansion into national and international markets.
Production philosophy
The estate combines respect for the land with an innovative approach: careful selection of well‑suited vineyard parcels, the production of wines that reflect the local territory, and a focus on sustainable practices through measures such as photovoltaic systems, lightweight packaging, water reuse and careful selection of label materials.
Terroir and vineyards
Primarily operating in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, with ties to the Triveneto region; the wines are an expression of gravelly soils and a microclimate tempered by the Adriatic and sheltered by the mountains to the north.
