On the nose, the Togouchi 9-year-old reveals aromatic notes of malt and cereals, delicately intertwined with hints of chocolate and vanilla, a result of the skillful aging in bourbon barrels. There are also hints of dried fruit, such as plums and raisins, that blend with a slight smoky note, typical of Japanese whiskies.
On the palate, this whisky is smooth and well-balanced. The initial notes are sweet and creamy, quickly enriched by a spicy touch of pepper and nutmeg. The finish is long and persistent, with an aftertaste that brings to mind malt and a subtle yet distinct smoky note.
The case in which the Togouchi 9-year-old is presented is not only a protection for the bottle but also a symbol of the elegance and care with which this whisky was created and packaged. Ideal for a special gift or for a collector, it adds an extra touch of class to an already excellent product.
The complexity and sophistication of the Togouchi 9-year-old make it perfect for enjoying on its own, perhaps accompanied by a bit of water to enhance its flavors, or as part of a refined cocktail, where it can show off all its versatility and richness of aromas.

Distillation
The historic blends do not originate from in-house distillation but from blending and ageing of imported distillates; the more recent single malts are distilled using traditional methods at the Sakurao Distillery.
Ageing
Maturation in casks using characteristic warehouses (including an underground tunnel in Togouchi/Akiota with constant temperature and humidity); use of primary maturation followed by finishes in different cask types.
