The Vignaferrovia Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Riserva from Tenuta Pian delle Vigne, by Marchesi Antinori, is presented in magnum format and packaged in a wooden case: a cellar-worthy bottle intended for special occasions or collection. The Riserva designation indicates an elevated selection within the Brunello di Montalcino DOCG denomination; the information provided here is limited to what appears on the label and packaging.

In the glass it displays an intense, measured personality, balanced between structure and freshness; tannins are present but integrated, and the persistence invites contemplative tasting. Recommended with hearty meat dishes, stews or aged cheeses; ideal if opened in advance to allow aromatic development. Store in a cool, stable place, preferably lying down; for further production details or specific vintages consult the label or the producer. The wooden case also makes it suitable as a gift.

Winery history
The estate’s winemaking origins are linked to the noble Della Gherardesca family (vineyards since the late 17th century). The property entered the Antinori holdings in the 1930s; the estate’s modern winemaking development took place from the late 1980s–1990s. First documented vintage of Vermentino at the estate: 1996.
Production philosophy
To express the Bolgheri terroir through parcel selection, experimentation in the vineyard and cellar, and practices focused on quality and respect for the territory.
Terroir and vineyards
Located in the Bolgheri DOC (Upper Maremma) on a plain encircled by gentle hills known as the “Bolgheri Amphitheatre.” Climate is moderated by sea breezes; alluvial soils range from sandy-clay to silty-clay with fine gravel (Bolgheri agglomerate), influencing the character of varieties grown (Cabernet, Merlot, Vermentino, etc.).
