On the nose, notes of vanilla, ripe fruit, sweet spices, and an elegant touch of peat are perceived, intertwined with deeper and warmer notes of wood and black pepper. On the palate, the robust, vigorous, and enveloping structure enhances a balance between sweetness, warmth, and a surprising mineral freshness, typical of the Indian climate and aging. The finish is long and persistent, with a spicy return that leaves a decisive imprint.
Ideal to be savored neat, in small sips, it pairs well with spicy Indian cuisine dishes or smoked meats, enhancing every tasting with a memorable sensory experience.

Distillation
For whiskies and gin Amrut predominantly uses copper pot stills and traditional washbacks; for some rums distillation is performed in iron stills from jaggery, followed by blending with aged foreign rums.
Ageing
Maturation in the Indian tropical climate with strong cask/spirit interaction; frequent use of finishing phases in different cask types to create expressions such as Portonova (finishing in port pipes) or preparations with sherry/intermediate sherry.
