Characterized by a high alcoholic strength, this single malt fully expresses the power and complexity of peated malt, ideal for lovers of bold flavors. The aging process takes place in oak barrels, capable of enhancing the smoky notes of peat without losing balance. On the nose, intense aromas of burnt bark, flint, and a hint of sweet spices typical of India, such as cardamom and cloves, emerge.
On the palate, it surprises with its enveloping and profound character; the smoky peat combines with hints of honey, ripe citrus, and a delicate toasted wood scent. The finish is long and warm, with a slightly salty aftertaste. Perfect paired with smoked meat dishes or aged cheeses, this whisky represents a refined discovery for those wishing to venture into the less conventional territories of peated malt.

Distillation
For whiskies and gin Amrut predominantly uses copper pot stills and traditional washbacks; for some rums distillation is performed in iron stills from jaggery, followed by blending with aged foreign rums.
Ageing
Maturation in the Indian tropical climate with strong cask/spirit interaction; frequent use of finishing phases in different cask types to create expressions such as Portonova (finishing in port pipes) or preparations with sherry/intermediate sherry.
