The Whisky Macallan Rare Cask Batch 1 2022-23 70cl is an extraordinarily exclusive and sought-after expression, coming from the renowned Macallan distillery in Scotland. This whisky is known for its sherry oak cask selection process, which contributes to creating a unique complexity and depth of aromas. In Batch 1 of 2022-23, the Master Distiller personally selected each cask, assembling a whisky that showcases unparalleled richness.
On the nose, the Rare Cask offers deep notes of ripe fruit, dark chocolate, and light spices, underlined by a subtle presence of vanilla and toasted oak. On the palate, it opens with an enveloping taste of red fruits and chocolate, balanced by refined spiciness and a hint of nutmeg. The finish is long and persistently warm with an elegant transparency of aromatic oak and a trace of molasses.
This whisky not only represents the pinnacle of Macallan's craftsmanship but is also a superb choice for connoisseurs seeking an exceptionally distinguished spirit to collect or enjoy on special occasions.

Small copper pot stills ('Curiously Small Stills') built by Forsyths; traditional new‑make production process for single malt (use of copper pot stills).
Ageing
Maturation in oak casks with heavy use of sherry‑seasoned casks (Jerez, often Oloroso); combined use of European and American oak and of ex‑bourbon casks. Many casks are seasoned with Oloroso in Jerez before arriving in Scotland.
