This single malt stands out for the harmonious use of malted and unmalted barley, a combination that gives complexity and depth to the aromatic profile. The maturation takes place in ex-bourbon oak barrels and European oak barrels, with a slight contribution of cherry wood, which imparts a precious fruity and spicy note to the spirit. On the nose, delicate aromas of ripe apples, vanilla, and a hint of sweet spices emerge, anticipating a smooth but persistent taste, with a finish of almond and honey.
Excellent as a contemplative whisky, the Red Head is appreciated both neat and with a splash of water to enhance its nuances. It pairs beautifully with dishes based on smoked salmon or aged cheeses, highlighting its elegance and the distinctive character typical of Walsh Irish whiskies.
