Distillation and production

Production method

Artisanal production with traditional stills (steam, bain-marie and Charentais columns), manual control of distillation phases, rapid selection of pomace after harvest and maturation in stainless steel containers and wooden casks depending on the product.

Distillation

Artisanal distillation in traditional stills using steam, bain-marie and Charentais columns, with manual cut control and a slow, carefully managed process.

Ageing

Initial maturation in stainless steel followed, for relevant references, by aging in large wooden casks or in barrique; times and toast levels vary depending on the line (grappa barrique, aged grappa, riserva).

Producer history Bepi Tosolini

Founded by Bepi Tosolini in 1943 in Friuli (Marsure di Povoletto, province of Udine), the company grew as a family business while keeping artisanal methods. After the war the family expanded the facilities, creating a historic cellar for aging and a series of traditional stills; today management remains within the family, with the fourth generation involved in operations.

Production philosophy

Enhance local raw materials and traditional techniques to produce elegant, distinctive spirits: selection of grapes and pomace, slow controlled distillation, and attention to wood aging when applicable.

Territory

Marsure di Povoletto (Udine), Collio and Colli Orientali del Friuli-Venezia Giulia (selection of grapes and pomace).

Awards and recognitions

Numerous international recognitions: examples reported by the company include Amaro Tosolini (Spirits Selection 2021), Acquavite di Birra (Falstaff 91 points, 2021), Grappa Arcano Decanter (Gold Medal Alambicco d'Oro 2020), Falstaff and Warsaw Spirits Competition awards for grappas such as 'I Legni Rovere' (2018–2019), and various Alambicco d'Oro medals and acknowledgements from IWSC, NYISC and Wine Enthusiast in recent years.
