Winery history Giacomo Grimaldi

The Grimaldi family has been present in the Barolo area since 1930, when an ancestor purchased a farmhouse and several vineyards. The company’s current identity under the "Giacomo Grimaldi" label began when Ferruccio Grimaldi started bottling and producing wines in 1996. In subsequent years the family acquired vineyards in the municipalities of Barolo, Novello, Vezza d’Alba and Monforte d’Alba, bringing the total estate to 18 hectares, according to the company. Management has remained family-run, with the new generation now involved.

Production philosophy

The winery emphasizes family continuity, respect for the land and meticulous work from vineyard to cellar. The approach prioritizes enhancing the local crus of the Langhe and Roero to express the distinctive character of the grape varieties and the soil.

Terroir and vineyards

The vineyards are located in the Langhe and Roero, with holdings in the municipalities of Barolo, Novello, Vezza d’Alba and Monforte d’Alba. Crus cited by the estate include Le Coste, Sotto Castello di Novello, Ravera and Valmaggiore; there are also vineyards planted with Barbera, Dolcetto and Sauvignon across several parcels.
