Kavalan

The project was launched under the King Car Group umbrella; production facilities began operation in 2005 and the first commercial single malt release (Kavalan Classic) was on 4 December 2008. The brand quickly gained international visibility thanks to a strategy focused on selected cask maturations and single cask releases.

Pursuit of quality through adapting maturation techniques to the local climate and innovating in cask management. Kavalan emphasises experimentation with wood types and cask treatments to achieve distinctive aromatic profiles while preserving the single malt identity.

Yuanshan Township, Yilan County, northeast Taiwan. The area is characterised by a subtropical climate and local water resources used in production.

Among international recognitions: the Solist Vinho Barrique was named 'World's Best Single Malt' at the World Whiskies Awards (2015); the producer has also received awards and trophies in international competitions (e.g. IWSC, WWA, other awards mentioned in official releases).
