This Aglianico Riserva Molise DOC "Contado" from Di Majo Norante, offered in magnum format, expresses the Apennine character of the variety with restraint. On the nose are dark berry fruits, plum and ripe cherry, accompanied by light spice impressions and earthy notes; the palate is structured, with pronounced but balanced tannins and an acidity that supports the frame. It shows density and concentration without excess and suits thoughtful tasting moments. The production approach appears respectful of the variety and the balance between fruit and structure is noticeable.

At the table it pairs well with red meats, braised dishes, roasts and aged cheeses; the magnum format encourages slow evolution in the cellar and it can be appreciated after a period of rest or after careful oxygenation in a decanter. Serving suggestions: tasting temperature cool but not cold and an opening time that allows the wine to express itself. The information given here is based on the label and on the general characteristics of Aglianico from Molise.

Winery history
The estate's winemaking dates back to the 19th century, evidenced by old cellars beneath the square and the family building in Campomarino. Commitment to grape growing was inherited by Luigi and then Alessio Di Majo; the vineyards occupy the ancient fief of the Marquises Norante di Santa Cristina (about 123 ha).
