The Kerner from Pacher Hof, produced under the Alto Adige Valle Isarco DOC designation, offers a clear and characterful profile. Visually it shows a luminous straw-yellow color; on the nose there are scents of white-fleshed fruit such as pear and apple, citrus notes and light floral hints integrated with a fresh herbaceous undertone. On the palate it reveals good acidity and a sapid texture supporting a medium-light body, with a clean, pleasant finish that invites another sip. The overall expression remains balanced between freshness and aromatic depth, without excessive extraction.

Suitable for those seeking a versatile white, it pairs easily with seafood dishes such as baked fish or shellfish, vegetable-based first courses or fresh cheeses. Ideal for aperitif or informal dinners, served chilled in a wide glass to enhance its aromas. Recommended for those who appreciate aromatic but not overpowering wines; best enjoyed young to capture its liveliness.
The winery

Pacherhof – Winery in Alto Adige / Autonomous Province of Bolzano (Isarco Valley wine region)

Discover the story and wines of Pacherhof.

Historic wine estate and wine hotel in Novacella/Varna (Eisack Valley). Family-run (Huber family), focused on white wines — including Kerner — vinified in historic cellars and a modern winery.
Region: Alto Adige / Autonomous Province of Bolzano (Isarco Valley wine region)
Country: Italy
Winery history
Records show vine cultivation on the estate as early as 1142. The Huber family have been present since the 19th century (marriage Maria Pacher–Josef Huber, 1847). Josef Huber was a local pioneer and introduced Kerner to the Isarco Valley in the 1970s (first plantings in 1973).
Production philosophy
Winemaking focused on preserving terroir character: hand-harvest, gentle grape handling in historic cellars, and selective use of stainless steel and wood; aim to express the minerality and freshness of the Isarco Valley.
Terroir and vineyards
Novacella/Varna (Neustift/Vahrn), sunny slopes in the Isarco (Eisack) Valley north of Bressanone; vineyards on sandy/loamy soils with marked diurnal temperature range (commercial sources report elevations around 600–820 m).
