Champagne Le Haut Bétivard by M.G. Heucq is born in the renowned Champagne region, an authentic expression of the extraordinary French sparkling wine tradition. Made with typical grape varieties of the area, such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier, this champagne stands out for the balance and finesse that only the combination of nature and skillful winemaking can provide.

The aging in the bottle, with a long mousse period, offers a high-class aromatic complexity, where notes of ripe white fruit elegantly intertwine with fragrant hints of flowers and yeast. On the palate, it is fresh and vibrant, with a very fine perlage that envelops the senses and a harmonious structure, capable of enhancing refined pairings such as seafood, raw fish dishes, and fresh cheeses. Le Haut Bétivard embodies the essence of Champagne, gracefully and personally celebrating every sip.

Grapes: Meunier, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir
Calcareous terroir of Fleury-la-Rivière with marine fossils. Parcel-level vinifications and the combined use of stainless-steel tanks and tonneaux. M.G. HEUCQ brand, launched in 2019 by Guillaume and Mélody; family-run for four generations.
Winery history
Four generations of the Heucq family have worked the vineyards in Fleury-la-Rivière. Robert and Paulette expanded the family holding; in 1979 François and Véronique built a pressing center to become récoltant-manipulant and developed commercialization. In 2019 Guillaume and Mélody resumed operations on about 5 hectares, creating the M.G. HEUCQ label and introducing parcel-based vinification and the use of tonneaux.
Production philosophy
Family-run management of all stages — from vineyard to bottle — with a focus on grape quality, winemaking in both stainless steel and wood, low-impact practices and enhancement of the terroir through blends and single-parcel cuvées. The website also states that HVE certification is underway.
Terroir and vineyards
The parcels are located mainly in Fleury-la-Rivière, a limestone terroir formed 45 million years ago and rich in marine fossils. Soils are varied, and the average age of the vines is reported by the producer at around 35 years.
