Lodovico of Tenuta del Nicchio is an exciting wine that takes its roots in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma, a land known for its warm climate and rich soils, ideal for the cultivation of international and native grape varieties. This label stands out for its refined territorial expression, thanks to the skillful composition of selected grapes that give life to an elegant and structured blend. The aging takes place in wooden barrels, a fundamental step that imparts complexity and depth without ever overpowering the freshness and liveliness typical of the wine.

On the nose, it opens with intense scents of ripe red fruits, delicate spices, and balsamic notes, while on the palate it is confirmed as soft, enveloping, and well balanced, with silky tannins and a long, pleasant persistence. The Magnum format version enhances the maturation and evolution of its organoleptic qualities, making it ideal for important occasions or to accompany refined dishes such as roasted meats, game, and aged cheeses. Lodovico represents a perfect meeting between tradition and modernity in Maremma winemaking, capable of thrilling with every sip.

Vineyards in the Alta Maremma between Bibbona, Bolgheri, Donoratico and Castagneto Carducci. Deliberately limited production; maximum indicated: 33,000 bottles. Notable ranges: Lodovico, Il Nicchio, Le 2 Ville; there is also a rosé called Sof.
Winery history
Tenuta del Nicchio is a recent project by Lodovico Antinori, carried forward together with his daughter Sophia. The vineyards, reclaimed from parcels long left uncultivated in the Tuscan Maremma, have been progressively restored to cultivation to produce wines with a clearly defined territorial identity. Technical management involves external professionals, while the family oversees commercial activity and brand image.
Production philosophy
A pursuit of finesse and a strong sense of place with limited production: the estate favors early harvests and parcel-by-parcel work to produce more elegant, characterful wines, focusing on varieties such as Cabernet Franc and on measured aging.
Terroir and vineyards
Alta Maremma, near Bibbona and Bolgheri. Vineyards lie in parcels a few kilometres from the sea, with vines on north-facing slopes and on steeper, terraced plots.
