The Perricone - Ribeca wine from the Firriato winery is a magnificent expression of the Sicilian territory, capturing the intensity and passion of its land of origin. Exclusively produced with Perricone grapes, a lesser-known but highly esteemed indigenous variety, this wine stands out for its vigorous character and unique aromatic profile.

With a deep red color featuring violet reflections, Ribeca opens up on the nose with intense aromas of ripe wild berries, such as blackberries and raspberries, enriched by spicy notes of black pepper and a slight touch of vanilla derived from maturation in barrique. On the palate, the wine is robust and well-structured, with well-balanced tannins that promise excellent longevity.

The winemaking process follows traditional methods, complemented by modern techniques to best enhance the characteristics of the grape variety. After fermentation, the wine matures in French oak barrels for about 12 months, followed by further aging in the bottle, which completes its complexity.

Firriato's Ribeca is a contemplative wine, ideal for pairing with elaborate dishes such as braised beef, roasted game, and aged cheeses. A true gem for lovers of rich and intense wines, who seek the history and tradition of one of Italy's most prolific wine regions in every sip.

Serve at a temperature of 18-20°C to fully appreciate its qualities. This wine not only tells the story of Perricone but also celebrates the enological craftsmanship of Firriato in a glass of profound satisfaction.

Winery history
Founded as a family project by Salvatore Di Gaetano in the 1980s, Firriato has grown by expanding its presence across multiple estates in Sicily and bringing the island’s wines to international markets. The family has remained actively involved in technical supervision and brand development, over time establishing estates dedicated to production, ampelographic research and hospitality.
Production philosophy
The winery pursues an approach focused on respect for the land: careful selection of soils, promotion of local grape varieties and sustainability-focused agricultural management. Firriato declares the conversion of its vineyards to organic farming and has undertaken initiatives to offset and reduce the company's climate footprint.
Terroir and vineyards
The company's holdings are distributed across several estates that represent different terroirs: the hills of the Agro Trapanese, the slopes of Mount Etna and the maritime viticulture of the island of Favignana. The individual estates mentioned in the sources include Baglio Sorìa, Borgo Guarini, Dàgala Borromeo, Pianoro Cuddìa, Giudeo, Cavanera Etnea and Tenuta di Calamoni in Favignana.
