Pinot Noir from the Plonerhof farm in Marling is a great red wine produced with grapes from the vine of the same name.

The vineyards allow themselves to be pampered by the morning sun, which ensures perfect ripening of the grapes. The terrain is rich in granite and other minerals such as slate and quartz, and has a slope of 40%.

This combination of perfect terroir, 100% natural processing, low yields and aging in oak barrels, gives rise to an amazing Pinot Noir that excites from start to finish.

The color is a beautiful ruby red inlaid with garnet reflections. An elegant fruity bouquet of berries, raspberries and cherries rises from the glass. The sip is round and velvety, with a refined and persistent tannic texture.

It is excellent paired with game and red meat, or with typical South Tyrolean snacks.

Winery history
Plonerhof was born from the conversion of an old farmhouse into a vineyard, led by the Tutzer family. The first bottling trials date back to the 2010s, with production consolidating in the early years of the following decade. The estate combines the owners' vine-nursery expertise with direct vineyard management, developing over the years an identity focused on low yields, clonal selection and quality wines.
Production philosophy
Vineyards are cultivated with the utmost respect for the environment, employing minimal interventions and a strong emphasis on manual work; at the winery the focus is on careful grape handling and a calibrated aging regime that highlights varietal and terroir characteristics. The estate has also undertaken projects on resistant grape varieties and clonal selection.
Terroir and vineyards
Marlengo hill: sandy-clay soils with occurrences of granite, schist and gneiss; vineyards on the valley-facing slopes with steep gradients, which promote a marked diurnal temperature range and the aromatic ripening of the grapes.
Awards and recognitions
Mentions and awards for some wines: the winery's Solaris has been awarded or mentioned in PIWI contexts; the Pinot Noir is positively mentioned in specialist guides and rankings.
