The Primitivo di Manduria DOP Poggio Marù presents itself as a dense, enveloping wine, faithful to the full-bodied style of the appellation. On the nose it offers very ripe fruit — plum and cherry — accompanied by notes of sweet spice and a light toasted hint that suggests depth without overpowering. On the palate the sip is full, with a soft tannic texture that supports the fruity juiciness; the balance between warmth and a fresh, savory tension makes the drinking experience pleasant and well balanced, with a persistence that leaves memories of dark berries.

It naturally suits bold dishes: roasted meats, stews and aged cheeses find a good complement in its gustatory richness, while serving it at around 16-18°C enhances its fruity notes and roundness. It’s a wine to be enjoyed in company as well, when you’re looking for a generous yet balanced glass; tasting it slowly allows you to appreciate the aromatic progression and the pleasant sensation of warmth that accompanies each sip.
