This Primitivo Salento IGP from Poggio Marù appears in the glass with an intense ruby color and a promise of fullness. The aromatic profile recalls ripe red fruits and plum, with hints of jam and a light spiciness of black pepper; the nose is direct but not banal. On the palate it shows body and generosity, soft tannins and a warm enveloping texture, balanced by a freshness that gives lift and by a salinity that carries through to a pleasant finish.

It’s a wine of immediate, convivial style, meant to accompany structured dishes without being overwhelmed: excellent with grilled meats, rich sauces, aged cheeses and rustic dishes. Best enjoyed at around 16-18 °C, when the fruit harmonizes with the spicy notes; opening it a few moments before serving helps to further soften the sip. A sincere table companion, suited to informal dinners and to moments when flavour takes center stage.
