The Primitivo Salento IGT from Feudo Monaci shows a concentrated, down-to-earth character, typical of the variety and the terroir. On the nose ripe red and black fruit emerge — plum and cherry — supported by subtle notes of sweet spices and a hint of dried flowers; the overall impression is direct but not crude. On the palate the sip is full and enveloping: the structure is robust but balanced by a fresh acidic spine and soft tannins that frame the wine’s substance, while the finish leaves fruity sensations and a pleasant spicy return.

It’s an approachable wine, immediate yet sufficiently articulated to accompany full-flavored dishes: roasts, grilled meats, rustic ragùs and hard cheeses. I recommend serving it at around 16–18 °C in a large glass to appreciate the aromatic depth and the warm roundness of the sip; excellent both for a convivial dinner and for those seeking a rich red that’s easy to enjoy.
