The Rosso Salento IGT Il Pescatore from Feudo Monaci is a wine of character that evokes the sun and sea-salt of the South without excess. In the glass it shows a deep ruby color; on the nose it opens with ripe red fruits and notes of plum, hints of sweet spice and a herbaceous touch recalling thyme and the Mediterranean scrub. It isn’t a wine that aims for opulence, but for pleasure: a direct, clean and inviting aroma. Its expression is honest, without frills.

On the palate it surprises with its balance: medium-full body, rounded tannins and a freshness that keeps the sip flowing, supported by a saline streak that lengthens the finish. It pairs well with rustic Mediterranean dishes — grilled meats, meat ragù, hard cheeses — and stands up to flavorful preparations without covering them. Serve slightly chilled to enhance its freshness; it’s an everyday companion suitable for both family meals and an informal dinner with friends. Also ideal for rustic aperitifs.
