The name refers to the refuges, high, narrow tunnels that saved the lives of thousands of people, still present today and visible at I Sabbioni, which were dug by civilians in the sand during the Second World War to shelter from bombing.

A wine obtained from a selection of grapes harvested when fully ripe, chosen for their richness and their fleshy fruit, which are usually harvested during the first ten days of October. The vinification of the grapes takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature and average maceration of 30 days. The wine ages for 12 months in French oak tonneaux (forests of Allier and Troncais), before being bottled, and then refines at least another 6 months in the bottle before being put on the market.

In the glass it shows color intense ruby red. On the nose, it immediately captivates with its intense, varied and nuanced bouquet, with floral scents of violets and fruity aromas of cherries and red fruits, enriched with spicy and aromatic notes.

A wine of richness and matter, full-bodied, where the maturity of the tannins delivers a persuasive and silky mouth. A tasty, elegant and refined sip that finds its maximum expression when combined with cold cuts and not too mature cheeses, game, roasts and grilled meats.
