Winery history Maculan

The Maculan family has been active in viticulture for several generations. The origins of the business go back to domestic production in the hamlets of Breganze; the winery itself was founded by Giovanni Maculan in 1947. In the 1970s Fausto Maculan, trained at the Oenology School in Conegliano, led a qualitative shift and the modern reinterpretation of Torcolato, which brought national and international visibility to the winery.

Production philosophy

The winery combines local roots and artisanal care with modern winemaking techniques, prioritizing the enhancement of the local territory and the varietal expression of each vineyard to produce distinctive, high-quality wines.

Terroir and vineyards

The vineyards are located on the hills at the foot of the Altopiano di Asiago, within the DOC Breganze. The area is hilly, with favorable exposures and volcanic and tuffaceous soils that contribute to the wines' character.
