The Baron de Chirel Verdejo Viñas Centenarias by Marques de Riscal is a white wine born in the heart of the Rueda Designation of Origin, one of the most prestigious areas for the production of whites in Spain. The main grape variety is Verdejo, grown in century-old vineyards that give complexity and depth to the wine. The vinification is carried out with care, often at controlled temperature to preserve freshness and varietal aromas, followed by partial aging in stainless steel that enhances the expressive purity of the fruit.

In the glass, it shows a bright straw yellow color, while on the nose it offers intense notes of white-fleshed fruit, aromatic herbs, and delicate floral hints. On the palate, the drink is fresh, balanced, with pleasant sapidity that provides persistence and harmony. Perfect paired with fish dishes, shellfish, and light appetizers, it represents the excellence of the territory and the Verdejo grape variety.

Winery history
The property originated as a winery associated with the title of the Marchese de Riscal. Camilo Hurtado de Amézaga was the driving force behind the entrepreneurial transformation that led to the company's founding in the second half of the 19th century; the winery has a long tradition of producing Rioja and, from the 1970s onward, has also established itself in the Rueda appellation for white wines. During the 20th and 21st centuries the estate expanded its wine‑tourism focus by creating the "Ciudad del Vino" and building the iconic hotel designed by Frank Gehry.
Production philosophy
The estate declares a strong commitment to respecting the land and to wine quality: it promotes organic and regenerative farming practices aimed at preserving soil health, enhancing varietal character and adapting the vineyards to climate change. At the same time it seeks to combine tradition and innovation, opening the cellar to the public with tours and hospitality experiences.
