The Grappa Classic Barrique from Psenner displays a measured and refined presence: in the glass there is a slight amber hue that hints at the influence of the wood. On the nose it opens with warm notes of vanilla and caramel, accompanied by a touch of dried fruit and light toasted nuances; the whole is balanced and does not overpower the spirit. On the palate the sip is enveloping yet controlled, with roundness and warmth well integrated, supported by a soft structure that allows for a pleasant persistence.

It is suited to moments of meditation or discreet end-of-meal servings: excellent with dark chocolate, dry pastries or aged cheeses that enhance its depth. On the palate you also perceive a subtle note of almond and cocoa on the retronasal, which closes with elegance. I recommend serving it in a tulip glass or in a tumbler slightly warmed in the hand, at room temperature, to appreciate the balance between wood and distillate without excess.
