Corte Aleardi’s Valpolicella Classico DOC is produced in the heart of Valpolicella Classica, in Sant’Ambrogio di Valpolicella near Verona. It is made mainly from Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella grapes, together with other varieties permitted by the regulations. The grapes come from hillside vineyards planted on clay and calcareous soils. Harvest generally takes place from mid-September to mid-October.

The winemaking process begins with destemming and pressing, followed by alcoholic fermentation of the must with the grape skins. Gentle punch-downs help extract colour and aromas. The wine ages for several months in stainless-steel tanks in the underground cellar before completing its refinement in bottle. In the glass, it shows a ruby-red colour and a delicate bouquet of iris, rose and violet, accompanied by notes of red fruit. On the palate, it is fresh, dry or slightly soft, pleasantly lively and balanced. This is a traditional red wine that expresses the character of the classic Valpolicella area through its clear fruit profile and elegant, easy-drinking style.

Winery history
The Ferrari family runs the Corte Aleardi estate in Gargagnago, in the heart of Valpolicella Classica. The estate is housed in a 17th-century residence with underground cellars. The family states that its winemaking tradition dates back to 1789 and has, over time, developed a range of wines typical of the area while retaining traditional practices integrated with technological elements.
Production philosophy
Enhance the native grape varieties and the territorial identity of Valpolicella by prioritising careful winemaking, including the natural drying of the grapes, and practices focused on quality and production sustainability.
Terroir and vineyards
Vineyards located in Valpolicella Classica, including the Bure Alto plots (municipality of San Pietro in Cariano) and Montepalà (municipality of Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella). The hillside vineyards have favourable exposures and calcareous, silty or gravelly soils depending on the plot. The winery uses drying rooms for the grapes destined for Amarone.
