Lucanian wines are numerous and valuable: Basilicata recently obtained the "Basilicata IGT" designation with which the whites, reds and rosés produced throughout the region are identified. The most prosperous grape is Aglianico, other known grape varieties are Aleatico, Bombino (black or white) and Verdeca.
